David Bowie

The very worst thing that can happen to creativity is success - it's the poison that steals away the wild joy of creating. If it works, it's out of date... but if it's brand new and reckless and a little bit broken? Well then you might just have something great on your hands.

Werner Herzog

There is nothing wrong with spending a night in jail if it means getting the shot you need. Expand your knowledge and understanding of music and literature, old and modern. That roll of unexposed celluloid you have in your hand might be the last in existence, so do something impressive with it. Carry bolt cutters everywhere. Thwart institutional cowardice. Ask for forgiveness, not permission. Explore unknown territory. Manoeuvre and mislead, but always deliver. Develop your own voice. A badge of honor is to fail a film theory class. Chance is the lifeblood of cinema. Guerrilla tactics are best. Get used to the bear behind you.

Three creative practitioners, two days of study.

Oli

Soph

The world-class master of calm in any wedding day storm, Soph has plotted, planned and shot everything from glacier elopements to global campaigns for a decade and a half. Recently seen chasing wild horses in some of the world’s craziest places, she 100% knows a thing or ten about mountain huts/desert sunrises/river crossings and anything that features #cameralyf.

Advertising agency escapee, former creative director / illustrator / writer / director / composer / intolerable slashie. Two decades immersed in the beautiful / challenging / turbulent / cathartic creators economy, most recently turning his hands to observing joy and community internationally, constantly asking the question "what if we mash these things together".

Si

With 15+ years of Bayly & Moore escapades on the books, chasing people in love around the planet with old film cameras has proven to be a wonderful way to spend a life. Add to that some formative years of music-crafting, film-making - along with a fair share of creative direction - and Si has earned his double-exposed ‘we should give this a crack’ stripes fairly comprehensively.
